Install alpha.12

Choose the path that matches the host. Fresh installs use the normal package manager. Existing alpha.11 systems must use the transition wrapper.

KITPro Server is active alpha software. Breaking changes and incomplete workflows may occur. Review the current limitations before using it with important data.

Already running alpha.11?

Do not run raw apt install, dpkg -i, or pacman -U. Use the matching wrapper below. Alpha.11 schema 7 to alpha.12 schema 13 migration is supported and validated. Downgrading after migration is unsupported.

A package manager cannot determine whether KITPro Server's control and helper state form a recoverable ownership record. The wrapper validates both state databases, creates and verifies the required backups, binds approval to the expected package, and only then permits the package transaction.

New host

Fresh alpha.12 install

The transition wrappers are not needed on a host without alpha.11.

The wrapper validates existing state, creates the complete verified backup set, checks the exact package, and calls APT only after preflight succeeds.

The wrapper verifies the exact package and establishes a temporary fail-closed pre-transaction gate. Alpha.12 installs permanent native protection for later upgrades.
